Peter John Vanden Bosch (3/31/1879 - 7/16/1956)

Jennie was the daughter of George (Gerjet) Arend Eekhoff (8/23/1848 - Oct, 1923 ) and Elke Rindels (10/23/1823 - Nov, 1932)
George Eekhoff was the son of Peter Gerjet Eekhoff (1823 - 1873) and Jantje Peters Eekhoff (4/17/1822 - 12/23/1905)

Peter J. Vanden Bosch was the ninth child of Mr. and Mrs. Johannas Vanden Bosch. He was born in 1879 in Zeeland, Michigan. In 1883, Peter J. moved with his father and stepmother to Harrison, So. Dakota. In 1893, the family moved to Leota, Minnesota. Two years later the family moved to Pease, Minnesota. The family traveled by covered wagon but Peter J. accompanied the livestock, machinery and furniture which was moved by train.
After a short time, Peter J. left Pease and went to Weitht Country (Iowa) and made his home.
In 1902, Peter J. married Jennie Echhoff. In 1905, Peter J. and Jennie moved to Leota where he sold Watkins products. Three years later, they moved back to Wright County (Iowa) where they farmed until 1917. From 1917 to 1941 they lived on various farms in the Leota and Edgerton (MN) area.
After they discontinued farming, they made their home in Edgerton. Peter J. passed away in 1956 (7/16/1956) and his wife, Jennie, died on March 19, 1962.

Some time in 1953, Peter John was asked to write his life's story. He used a type writer, and typed out what he could.
I have elected to display his writtings as an 'image' as opposed to me having to leave out some of his corrections/deletions since, #1, his typewriter strick-outs can not be duplicated and displayed, and, #2, I really believe they add to the story.
I also did the same with the brief writtings of Jennie Eckhoff.
